Profhilo - Known as a miracle skin booster, Profhilo features the highest level of Hyaluronic Acid currently available. By stimulating collagen and elastin, it can help slow down the signs of ageing and help to protect against it.

Skin Booster FAQs
What are Skin Boosters?
Skinboosters are injectable treatments that rejuvenate skin. They hydrate, plump and firm, without changing your face or adding volume. Some use hyaluronic acid to do this e.g. Profhilo, the ‘injectable moisturiser’. Others use Polynucleotides - a substance derived from fish that stimulates cells in the deeper skin layers to repair and regenerate. Both result in more collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, enhancing skin texture, elasticity, and firmness for up to 6 months after treatment.
Do Skinboosters work?
Yes! Many of our clients even see benefits within one week of treatment. Profhilo is especially popular for early creepiness on the face and neck. Polynucleotides are also fantastic for the face and neck but come into their own for the under eye area.
Am I Suitable For Skin Boosters?
Skin Boosters are like an injectable moisturiser for a boost of hydration on the face, hands, neck and decolletage. Both younger and older clients, men and women have found Skin Boosters can help them achieve a more youthful, smoother and more radiant complexion.
Skin Boosters vs. Profhilo
Profhilo is a popular brand of skinbooster - it uses multiple injections of hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen and elastin production for improved firmness and elasticity. Polynucleotides (Ameela and Plinest are popular brands) are the other main types of skin booster. Some are formulated in combination with hyaluronic acid (e.g. Newest), but generally, they do not contain any.
How do Skin Boosters work?
Unlike dermal fillers, Skin Boosters are a lightweight hyaluronic acid gel and are not injected beneath the skin to volumise or shape the face. Instead, they are injected into the skin to hydrate, boost collagen production and improve skin quality.
how long do skin boosters take to work
It is recommended to do 2-3 sessions of skinboosters (depending on what type you have), 3-4 weeks apart in order to see the full results.
Do Skin Boosters Hurt?
Some minor discomfort may be experienced, but it is minimal. The treatment is also fairly quick. We can always apply an anaesthetic numbing cream prior to treatment.
Are there any side effects or risks with Skin Boosters?
You may experience bruising or swelling immediately after treatment where the skin booster was injected. These effects are minor and will subside after 24 hours, and bruising usually disappears within 1-2 weeks. During your consultation session, any potential side effects will be outlined based on your medical history.
How long will the results last?
You will see the results of skin boosters within 7-14 days and will last up to 9 months.
Aftercare & recovery
Skin Booster injections only take a few minutes to administer and are injected into the treatment area via a small needle. Typical injection sites include the cheeks, around the eyes, nasolabial folds and lips. Clients may be treated with a numbing cream to manage discomfort.
Any discomfort should disappear within a few hours, and bruising and swelling reduced within 24 hours.
There is minimal downtime associated with this treatment. Generally, clients are able to return to work and resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
There may be a little redness and/or swelling post-treatment but this should dissipate after 48 hours.
